Description: Wool Orkla textile design runner in blue. Rug shown is 2'5"x8' in 100 knot. These unique rug designs were inspired by using old Scandinavian textiles that were originally woven on large hand looms. These are some of the same that you may also find in Scandinavian Aakles or large wall hangings, bed coverlets or table runners.

The Orkla design originated in the 1700's in the Orkla area of Trondelag, Norway. This design is called Orkla because like most Norwegian textile designs, they are named for the first place they were woven rather than by the first person that created or wove them. The Orkla design most often features 3 variations of one color as well as the off white background. We currently have it available in Blue or Red variations. You may also select and order custom colors to coordinate with your home or cabin décor.
